As the COVID-19 coronavirus spreads in New York City and the U.S., AFSCME Retirees is sharing important information for older Americans about how to stay safe, healthy and informed. The coronavirus can be more dangerous to older adults [age 60 and over] and people with serious health conditions and/or weaker immune systems. VACCINE UPDATE - NYC
FREE COVID-19 vaccinations are available for New Yorkers ages 65 and older (effective Jan. 2021).
- Visit NYC.gov/VaccineFinder to find a location near you and schedule your appointment
- Call 1-877-VAX4NYC to get assistance over the phone.
- Visit the New York State Covid vaccine web page to make an appointment at state vaccination sites in the New York metro area. Starting Feb. 24, Medgar Evers College and York College will open in partnership with FEMA as state vaccination centers for New Yorkers living in specific zip codes.
