  • medicare Part B 2021 Reimbursement

    Medicare-eligible retirees and their Medicare-eligible dependents will be reimbursed annually for the standard Medicare Part B amount of $148.50 per month ($148.50 x 12 months = $1,782), excluding any penalties and late enrollment fees, and subject to be pro-rated. Medicare Part B 2021 reimbursements will be issued in April 2022. Please check your bank account/statement (or the mail, if you are receiving a physical check) for your payment. If you already submitted your Medicare Part A & B card to the Health Benefits Program, this payment is automatic and you will receive it annually.

Free Tax Preparation Options

Food Bank for NYC. Food Bank for NYC offers free, contactless tax preparation services for low-income New Yorkers. Get the refunds and credits you may be entitled to, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) that can be worth up to $8,852 for some families. Free tax prep is available at: https://www.foodbanknyc.org/taxhelp/. Call 646-981-6111, Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM, or email: [email protected]. The deadline to file is April 18, 2022.

The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is excited to coordinate the City’s annual Tax Season Initiative for the 20th season. New Yorkers who earned $72,000 or less during 2021 can use NYC Free Tax Prep to file for free with the help of an IRS certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) or Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) volunteer preparer.
