We're excited to share details about our Spring 2024 Retirees education program, brought to you through a Partnership with the DC 37 Education Department and the DC 37 Retirees Association. This program offers a variety of enriching experiences in education, recreation, and social engagement tailored for retirees like you. There's something to suit everyone's interests: health and fitness, history, computer/digital skills and language classes.
An administratorship is a process established under Article IX of the International Constitution, under which the International President is authorized to appoint representatives to assume responsibility for the day-to-day affairs of an affiliate when the affiliate is found to have violated the International Constitution. Under this provision, he may appoint administrators to carry out these responsibilities on his behalf.

The Retirees Education Courses Are Back for the FALL 2021 Cycle!

The DC 37 Ed Fund is accepting applications for online classes to be offered during the upcoming Fall 2021 cycle. Courses offered during the Fall 2021 cycle include Spanish, Health & Fitness, Black History, Jewish History, Computer Fundamentals, Intermediate ComputerTechnology, and Digital Literacy.

You must be a member of the DC 37 Retirees Association to register. Here's how:

  • The Council of Municipal Retiree Organizations (COMRO) has learned that Mayor de Blasio, the Municipal Labor Committee and the Mayor's Office of Contracts are in the process of awarding a highly lucrative contract to a major health insurance company to take over administering Medicare Part B benefits for over 250,000 New York City pension recipients on Medicare effective this July 1, 2021.
  • Yet nowhere in this process have they consulted with the 250,000 people and their families to determine how it will help or harm us.

On Friday, the House of Representatives passed the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act (H.R.1195) by a bipartisan vote of 254 to 166.
